Sometime in mid-January we finally finished putting the nursery together. There are now wall hangings and a corner toy net for all the stuffed animals to live in. Enjoy the pictures!
Okay, so here is round two of trying to write a blog. Since apparently a new baby was not enough of a reason to keep this updated, hopefully our move across the pond will provide lots of writing opportunities.

Aunt Jessica's Wedding
While we were home at Christmas, Katherine's best friend, Jessica Czubakowski tied the knot with Philip Riekenberg. As you may imagine it was a bit of a blustery day for a wedding-but that is what you will get in Wisconsin in January. We had an amazing time and were sad when the night ended because it meant that it was time to start the long journey back to San Antonio so that Katherine could return from maternity leave on Monday morning.

Four Generations
While visiting Chicago, Patrick's parents threw a Sip n' See for everyone to meet Greta. That gave us the opportunity to take this fantastic 4 generation photo.
Greta's Baptism
While we were home over Christmas time we thought we would try to squeeze in one more important life event-Greta's baptism. She was baptized on 23 December 2012 at Katherine's home church-First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire. Many of you may remember this as the church we got married in. For the big occasion Greta wore a baptism gown made out of handmade lace. The lace and the gown were made by her Great Great Grandma Emily Piecuch (Grandma Nancy's grandmother). Her Godparents are Katherine's brother Robert and Katherine's (almost) sister Jessica Czubakowski.
Slacking
So you may have noticed that we have been slacking in the blog posts department. Since Katherine has gone back to work she spends most of her free time with Patrick and Greta. We have tons of pictures to post though so we will slowly start working through the backlog of important events from the past 3 months. Check back often for new posts in the coming days! In the meantime, here is a picture I found while rummaging through all the important things that have happened in the past four and a half months.

Road Trip
On December 17th we packed up the whole household (including the dogs and the cat) and hit the open road. Our final destination was Katherine's parents' house in Wisconsin. We found out just how much stuff the smallest member of our family required (yes the cat weighs more than the baby still) but in our new car there was plenty of room for everything. We headed across Texas and Oklahoma finally crossing the state line into Missouri. We spent the evening in Webb City, Missouri with Patrick's good friends John and Robin Evans. Greta enjoyed meeting their son Owen and hanging out with someone a little closer to her own size. We played a fantastic game of Ticket to Ride in which the girls cleaned up and showed the boys how it is done. The next morning we got back on the road and continued heading north. We hit the rest of Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota. After dark we finally crossed into Wisconsin and arrived home a short time after that.
